TS-Optics M68x1 Tilting Flange - for Astrophotography

You have adjusted your telescope perfectly and are happy about beautiful stars on the optical axis. But your camera shows deformed stars in one corner? The larger the camera sensor is, the stronger the effect becomes. Almost every astrophotographer knows this "bad corner".
The possible causes of this problem are:
♦ The field of view of the telescope is minimally tilted. This can happen especially with Newtonian telescopes but also with RC and Cassegrain telescopes.
♦ The focuser is slightly tilted, this may be due to the attachment to the telescope tube.
♦ The sensor of the camera is not exactly at right angles to the optical axis. The manufacturers glue the sensors into the housing. For normal applications, the accuracy is sufficient. But fast optics reveal even minimal errors.

This tilt flange for the M68x1 connection thread is a possible solution:

Screw the adapter to the M68x1 connection thread of the focuser. Using the three adjustment screws, you can now tilt the camera-side accessory to exactly match the camera sensor to the optical axis of the telescope. After that, the orientation of the adapter to the camera sensor must not be changed too much.

And here´s how it works:

Identify the "bad corner" and then start adjusting the tilt flange.
Loosen the counter screws. 2.
2. adjust the adjustment screw(s) according to the image defect.
3. take the next test shot - if deterioration has occurred, you have chosen the wrong direction or possibly the wrong screw. If there is an improvement, you are on the right track.
4. if the result is satisfactory, tighten the counter screws again - done.
Especially with fast telescopes, which are sensitive to tilt, tightening the counter screws may cause a minimal change. Check this and take the deviation into account already when adjusting.
Rejoice in astrophotos sharp to the corners .

Connection telescope side: M68x1 female thread (female)
Connection camera side: M68x1 male thread (male) - length 4 mm
Height: minimum 9mm without the male thread
Diameter: 95 mm
